About

Hi! I’m Anni!

Are you qualified?

I am a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor with CPCAB Level 3 & 4 Certificates in Therapeutic Counselling, and as of September 2026 I will be studying Level 5 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People. I have volunteered with Ponthafren in Wales and Family Line, a nationwide counselling charity. I am registered with the BACP.

What sort of counselling do you do?

I am a person centred counsellor, which means I facilitate your exploration of your experiences. I can work with tools, such as nesting dolls, stones or random items to create a narrative by which to explore aspects of identity.

Where do you work?

Online: using Teams, Gmail or Zoom as soon as convenient
Outdoors: in nature, a public space around Shropshire to be agreed for a walk
In person: I am just starting up my private practice so I do not currently have a permanent premises, but I am able to book face to face sessions in Shrewsbury off of Longden Coleham during Monday and Thursday afternoons.

Who do you work with?

I am qualified to work with both adults and young people, having both a counselling and primary teaching qualification. I am able to work with most low level mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression.
I am happy to work with:
– mothers who have experienced birth trauma
– twins
– young people and adolescents
– boarding school students
– and more, please ask.

What is your life experience?

I was born in South Africa and moved to UK when I was 8. I have an identical twin sister who is a doctor. I studied English with Creative Writing, didn’t get anywhere with that so decided to become a primary school teacher, a career I loved but it doesn’t suit family life. I am a mum to two small boys, after suffering a traumatic birth and eclampsia with my youngest and Post Partum Anxiety.

Why are you a counsellor?

I have been interested in being a counsellor since leaving school at the age of 18, but it is a career that requires life experience. The counselling I received as a teenager had a profound impact on my life, getting me through my teenage years, and I really wanted to emulate the consistent, non-judgemental support she had given me to others.
